As he lay wounded in a boat in a Watertown backyard, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev scribbled a note on the vessel's wall claiming culpability for the Boston bombing and explaining his motive, sources tell CBS News correspondent John Miller. Tsarnaev allegedly wrote that the attack was in retaliation for the US invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, and that its victims were collateral damage; he reportedly likened them to Muslims civilians killed by US military action. "When you attack one Muslim, you attack all Muslims," Dzhokhar reportedly wrote in pen.

He said that he didn't mourn brother Tamerlan because he was now a martyr in paradise—and Dzhokhar expected to be one soon as well. The note was readable despite the bullets that later tore through the hull, and it's "certainly admissible" in court, Miller says. That might be key, because while Tsarnaev told much of this to authorities already, it was before he was read his Miranda rights. (More Dzhokhar Tsarnaev stories.)
