Will Ferrell is working on a one-man show that could hit Broadway this fall, and he may focus the routine on an interactive bit starring a mock presidential candidate, Politico reports. The onetime "Saturday Night Live" George Bush doppelganger plans to incorporate a stump speech, question-and-answer session, and political ads into his script.

Longtime Ferrell collaborator Adam McKay, who will direct, describes his friend's inspiration as "a candidate who says absolutely nothing and refuses to commit in any single direction, ever, for fear of losing supporters." As the candidate, Ferrell would answer questions posed by both plants and real people, drawing on his early improv roots. (More Will Ferrell stories.)
