After releasing photos of the New Orleans Mother's Day parade shooting, police have identified one suspect as Akien Scott and urged the 19-year-old to turn himself in, reports USA Today. Police, who earlier said three suspects and two weapons were involved, say it's too early to tell whether Scott was the only shooter. The shooting injured 19 people, three of whom are still in critical condition and expected to undergo more surgery, the Times-Picayune reports. The two youngest victims, a 10-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy, suffered graze wounds and are in good condition.

"Akein Scott needs to do the right thing, and turn himself in," a police spokesman said. "What happened was an atrocity, and we want to make sure that everyone who took part in that violence faces consequences of the criminal justice system." Scott's previous arrests include possession of firearms, possession of narcotics, and resisting arrest, the police spokesman said, praising the hard work of detectives and the "incredible response" to a tip line after the shooting.
