A federal judge today dismissed an effort by Hillary Clinton supporters to block Saturday caucuses for Las Vegas Strip shift workers, reports the AP. The lawsuit claimed the at-large precincts created for the workplace caucuses gave those voters too many delegates. The decision is expected to benefit Barack Obama, who was endorsed by the union representing many of the shift workers.

The suit was filed two days after the Culinary Workers Union endorsed Obama, though Democrats approved the rules change in March. The judge said parties have a right to allocate delegates as they wish: "We aren't voting here, we're caucusing. That's something that parties decide." Yesterday Bill Clinton raked a reporter over the coals for saying that the Clinton team was behind the suit; Clinton suggested that Nevada Democrats didn't understand the delegate inequality when they voted on the caucuses.
