The New York Times flexed its journalistic muscle today with four Pulitzer Prizes, including investigative reports on Apple and Walmart's use of bribery in Mexico, the AP reports. The Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel won the public service Pulitzer for coverage of reckless driving by an off-duty police officer. The AP picked up a prize for covering the civil war in Syria, and, in a sign of changing times, the nonprofit InsideClimateNews won a national reporting Pulitzer for revealing the dangers of oil pipelines, the New York Times reports. Among the other winners:
- Fiction: Adam Johnson for The Orphan Master's Son
- Drama: Ayad Akhtar for Disgraced
- History: Fredrik Logevall for Embers of War
- Biography: Tom Reiss for The Black Count
- General nonfiction: Gilbert King for Devil in the Grove
- Poetry: Sharon Olds for Stag's Leap
- Music: Caroline Shaw for Partita for 8 Voices.
