Federal investigators are casting a less-than-approving eye at a frankly spectacular mid-air rendition of the "Harlem Shake" meme. The video, recorded by the Colorado College Ultimate Frisbee Team, begins with a man in a helmet dancing alone in the aisle of a passenger jet, and ends with an aisle full of dancers, including a man in a banana costume. "I don't see … why this should cause any trouble," one of the team members tells ABC News. "We asked the staff and they said it was safe."
Of course, not everyone agrees with that assessment. One retired pilot told CNN it was "ridiculous … You cannot tell me it is safe to have that number of people up out of their seat jumping up and down." The FAA has opened a formal investigation. It says the video "looks bad," but likely isn't a crime as long as the plane wasn't taking off or landing, and the flight crew agreed to the stunt. Frontier Airlines says that "all safety measures were followed and the seatbelt sign was off." (More Harlem Shake stories.)
