Gizmodo says the hacker who took over the Twitter feeds of Burger King yesterday and Jeep today also left an "Internet paper trail" that reveals his identity. Introducing Tony "iThug" Cunha, described by Gizmodo's Sam Biddle as a DJ in the Boston and Providence areas and "esteemed former hacker of MySpace pages." Cunha apparently belonged to a group called the Defonic Team Screen Name Club, which got busted in 2005 for hacking the mobile phone of Paris Hilton. Gizmodo got hold of SMS transcripts that it says shows Cunha—who DJs under the name "iThug"—boasting after the hacks to a girl under his real name on Facebook. Cunha's Facebook page has since been deleted. "The brag seals it," writes Biddle. "The same impulse that's brought down many a hacker before now ... is what pushed Tony Cunha into lol-winking a claim of responsibility for the hack on a girl's wall." Click for the full article.
