Celebrity / Chris Brown Chris Brown Faked His Community Service: DA During one 'shift,' he was really in Cancun? By Evann Gastaldo, Newser Staff Posted Feb 6, 2013 9:31 AM CST Copied R&B singer Chris Brown, right, appears in court court with his attorney Mark Geragos for a probation progress report hearing in Los Angeles Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012. (AP Photo/David McNew, Pool) We know Chris Brown completed some community service after he was convicted of assaulting Rihanna, because we've all seen the photos of him in his reflective orange gear. But it turns out that during some of the times he was supposedly engaged in community service in his native Virginia, he was actually giving concerts or even en route to Cancun, prosecutors say. The DA filed to revoke Brown's probation yesterday, offering a slew of evidence that he faked his community service records, TMZ reports. The trouble stems from the work Brown supposedly did at Tappahannock Children's Center. First hint of something amiss: His mom used to be a director there. It seems the police only supervised Brown on some of the occasions he was supposedly there, leaving his mom to verify the times he worked there and what he did. The DA says Brown had a prior relationship with the chief of police, and claims Brown's lawyer "instructed" the police department's lawyer how to "handle" questions about the community service from the DA. The documents also list other possible probation violations by Brown, including his recent fight with Frank Ocean, his positive drug test, the chair-throwing incident, and the phone-stealing incident. Brown's lawyer calls the whole thing "horseshit," Fox News reports. Brown will face the allegations in court today, the AP adds. (More Chris Brown stories.) Report an error
