A church at the center of the mourning in Newtown, Conn., evacuated today after receiving a phone threat promising another massacre, the Washington Post reports. "I’m going to kill everyone there," the caller said. "My friend didn't finish the job." After 10 minutes, police and church officials emptied out the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church during its busy noon mass. It's not the church's first threat, either: When St. Rose put up posters yesterday to help parishioners deal with grief, one poster had "This is just round one" written on it.
Ten of the 20 child victims in Friday's attack were members of the church, which has already planned eight funerals. Police are also concerned with social media hoaxsters who are spreading misinformation about the massacre, reports CBS News. "People posing as the shooter, mimicking this crime and crime scene and criminal activity, some things in a threatening manner," said a Connecticut State Police spokesman. "These issues are crimes. They will be examined in state and federally." (More Connecticut school shooting stories.)
