Los Angeles' most famous landmark is now looking its best after a major makeover—the biggest in 34 years. The Hollywood sign's nine 50-foot-tall letters have been refurbished and given a fresh coat of paint in time for its 90th birthday next year. At the VIP-studded unveiling of the gleaming sign, the chairman of the Hollywood Sign Trust joked that its face had been coated in two tons of makeup, and "a lot was done to her backside, but we're leaving that secret," the Los Angeles Times reports.
