Brady Wins MVP in Landslide

Tom Brady has racked up another eye-popping stat: 49-for-50, the vote count by media members that won him the AP's 2007 NFL MVP award today. Brady earned the crown with a record-breaking year, completing 68.9% of his passes for 4,806 yards, both league bests, and beating the single-season touchdown pass record by one. Oh, and his team won a couple games, too.

Brady’s award shocked no one, least of all the Patriots, who now have their first MVP ever, ESPN reports. “To be honest, I’m surprised it took so long,” said owner Robert Kraft. Brady was typically humble, saying he was “flattered” and thankful “for any consideration I was given.” The bad news? Since 2000, no MVP has won a Super Bowl ring. (More NFL stories.)
