Roger Clemens, who has vehemently denied the allegations of steroid use made in the Mitchell report, has now been asked to make that pitch under oath in front of a congressional committee, the Washington Post reports. The committee also wants to hear from his former strength trainer, Brian McNamee, along with Yanks Andy Pettitte and Chuck Knoblauch, and Mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomoski.
McNamee told Mitchell's investigation into drugs in baseball that he injected steroids into Clemens over a dozen times. Clemens claims the only injections McNamee gave him were painkillers and vitamins. The men have been telling completely conflicting stories to the media; doing so under oath could leave one of them facing felony charges of perjury or contempt of Congress.
