McCain: Libya Worse Cover-Up Than Watergate

In a world gone mad over Sandygeddon, at least we can turn on our televisions and find the comforting spectacle of politicians bickering. The looming hurricane, the looming election, and Libya dominated today's political talk shows, with John McCain leading the GOP's charge on the White House's response to the attack on the Benghazi consulate, saying, “It is now the worst cover-up or incompetence I have ever observed in my life. Somebody the other day said to me, 'Well, this is as bad as Watergate.' Nobody died in Watergate." More from around the Sunday dial, as per Politico:

• Rahm Emanuel on President Obama's Benghazi response: “The events there are a human tragedy. It’s an assault on America. And, as commander in chief, he took control and said what needs to be done.”
• Va. Gov. Bob McDonnell on Sandy: “We’re ready. We have contingency plans in place. We’ve got about 2,000 additional people coming into Virginia to help. All hands will be on deck.”
• David Axelrod on Sandy's effect on the election: “Obviously, we want unfettered access to the polls, because we believe that the more people come out, the better we’re going to do. And so, to the extent that it makes it harder, that’s a source of concern.”
