The man who found the only tangible evidence of a mysterious hijacker's jump out of an airplane over Washington state in 1971 hopes to sell it at auction, the AP reports. In 1980, 8-year-old Brian Ingram found a wad of $20 bills on the banks of the Columbia River; police linked them by serial number to the $200,000 ransom given to DB Cooper.
"Think about it; it was the biggest manhunt. They never found any clues. The money is the only evidence,” pitches Ingram, now 36. His online auction attempt, which he hopes could raise enough to put a child through college, comes as the FBI reopens the Cooper case in hopes of solving the US’ only unsolved hijacking.
