A celebrity divorce lawyer is under investigation for allegedly threatening a client with Mafia violence on a recorded voice message, the New York Post reports. Barbara left the message for truck driver Ray Young Jr, who had claimed in a complaint that Barbara was holding onto $200,000 in unearned fees. “Ray, it’s Dominic Barbara,” the lawyer says on the message. “Before you call me back, I’d like you to Google . . . Joseph Barbara. Mafia. That’s my grandfather."

Barbara goes on to say he's with a man "right now" and "maybe we'll come over and see you later, if you want." Contacted by the Post, Barbara said he made the call to "scare [Young] off"—but later claimed the message was a fake. As for Young, he says Barbara is "threatening me like a mobster. This is not the TV show 'Mob Wives.' I don’t like threats—nobody does." Barbara, currently suspended as a lawyer, says Young's complaint with the Bar Association is keeping him from getting his job back. (More lawyer stories.)
