A couple milestones will probably be hit as the Democratic National Convention kicks off in North Carolina—and not good ones. The Treasury Department's official national debt clock is currently sitting at $15.99 trillion, meaning it should click over to $16 trillion today, Fox News reports. We're guessing the Democrats won't make as big a deal of the clock as did the Republicans—who featured two debt clocks at their convention last week. And another dubious landmark is out today: Food stamp usage hit 46.7 million people in June, a record. That's 3.3% higher than participation from a year prior, Bloomberg reports (More national debt stories.)
