Russell Crowe isn't much of a gladiator when it comes to taming the Long Island Sound. Ask the Coast Guard officers who picked him up when he got lost in his kayak. The 48-year-old actor launched with a pal from Cold Spring Harbor over the holiday weekend, and ended up heading into shore after dark 10 miles away. Crowe called out to a passing Coast Guard boat, which hoisted the kayakers on board—and pulled their kayaks back to safety on shore. "He just needed a little bit of help, he just got a little lost," Coast Guard Petty Officer Robert Swieciki tells NBC. Crowe, who's on Long Island filming biblical movie Noah, tweeted a "thanks to the boys from the US Coast Guard for guiding the way." (More Russell Crowe stories.)
