A mind-boggling tragedy in Quebec: A new bride who decided to have additional photos taken in her wedding dress ended up drowning during the shoot, reports the Canadian Press. She was standing near a waterfalls with her feet in the water when her dress started to get saturated, say police. The 30-year-old lost her balance and went into the Ouareau River, and the weight of the dress proved deadly.

"The photographer put down his equipment and tried to save her," says a police official. "He grabbed her with his hands." Another witness "tried to help, but they couldn't save her. The dress was too heavy." By the time a scuba diver found her, she had sunk to the bottom. The woman had been married in June and went to a park in Rawdon, near Montreal, for the additional photos.
