Psychiatrist Warned Campus Cop About Holmes

The psychiatrist who treated James Holmes before the Aurora massacre was so worried about his behavior that she broke patient confidentiality and warned a campus police officer about him, as well as the University of Colorado's threat team, sources tell ABC. It's not known what the officer she approached did about the warning, but he has been interviewed—with an attorney present—by the team investigating the shooting rampage that killed 12, the sources say.

A university spokeswoman, citing a court-issued gag order, declined to say what the campus police officer might have done about the warning received weeks before the shooting. The university says police involvement in threat assessment could include aspects such as "badge access, background checks, wellness checks, criminal investigations, and referrals and outreach to other law enforcement agencies."
