Renowned sci-fi author Ray Bradbury has died in Los Angeles at age 91, i09 is reporting, with confirmation from his family and biographer. The report does not indicate the cause of death. "If I had to make any statement, it would be how much I love and miss him," his grandson Danny Karapetian said. "He influenced so many artists, writers, teachers, scientists, and it's always really touching and comforting to hear their stories. Your stories. … He was the biggest kid I know."

Bradbury wrote a host of much-lauded books, including Fahrenheit 451, The Martian Chronicles, Something Wicked this Way Comes, and The Illustrated Man. Karapetian picked out a quote from that last one to remember him by: "My tunes and numbers are here. They have filled my years, the years when I refused to die. And in order to do that I wrote, I wrote, I wrote, at noon or 3:00 am. So as not to be dead." (More Ray Bradbury stories.)
