President Obama's decision not to campaign for Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett shows that the president's "goose is cooked," Sarah Palin said after Scott Walker prevailed in Wisconsin's recall election. The former Alaska governor, slamming Obama's "hopey changey stuff," said the people of Wisconsin revealed what they want "is the complete opposite of what President Obama and the White House represents today," and congratulated Walker for sending a message to the country, Politico reports.

Palin predicted that the Obama administration—and its "lapdogs in the leftist media"—would quickly move to distance itself from the Wisconsin result. Ahead of the election, the White House denied that the Wisconsin vote would foretell November's result. "A race where one side is outspending the other by a ratio of at least 8 to 1 probably won't tell us much about a future race," said press secretary Jay Carney. It's not clear whether the result will give any momentum to the Romney campaign, as close to a fifth of Walker voters told pollsters that they plan to vote for Obama, the New York Times notes.
