Top Republican strategists have devised a plan to "do exactly what John McCain would not let us do" and bombard the public with incendiary Jeremiah Wright soundbites just in time for the Democratic National Convention in September. The plan was commissioned by Chicago Cubs owner Joe Ricketts, who would pump $10 million into it. The New York Times obtained a copy of the report, dubbed "The Defeat of Barack Hussein Obama" from a source who was "alarmed by its tone."

To guard against charges of race-baiting, the plan advises hiring an "extremely literate conservative African American" who will charge Obama with misrepresenting himself as a "metrosexual, black Abraham Lincoln." The PAC has already contacted a black LA radio host about the gig. The plan was overseen by strategist Fred Davis and other former McCain hands, who refer to their old boss as "a crusty old politician who often seemed confused," criticizing his decision not to hammer the Wright issue.
