American evangelicals have opened a new front in the culture wars—across the Atlantic. Because European law impacts American jurisprudence, the groups hope they can nip these products of secular humanism in the overseas bud. Benjamin Bull, chief counsel for the evangelical Alliance Defense Fund, tells the Christian Science Monitor: "If we didn't try to mold precedents abroad, they could come back to hurt us."
