Ukraine's political infighting is reaching new levels: The former prime minister who has been jailed on what backers call trumped-up corruption charges released photos today of her bruised body, reports AP. Yulia Tymoshenko, hero of the nation's 2004 Orange Revolution, says prison guards roughed her up while taking her to a hospital against her will for treatment a spinal condition. Tymoshenko, who says she doesn't trust the doctors, has been on a hunger strike for a week now to protest her treatment.

The photos appear to be legit, with AP noting that they were taken by Ukraine's "top human rights official." Earlier today, four explosions rocked a city in the east, injuring 27 people, and the government immediately blamed terrorists. But Tymoshenko's opposition party says the government itself may have staged the blasts to deflect attention from her treatment. (More Ukraine stories.)
