Donald Trump was met by protesters and hecklers as he arrived at Scotland's parliament yesterday to complain about a proposed wind farm in sight of his new $1.2 billion golf resort. Scotland's tourist industry will be destroyed, and the country will go broke if it builds the "monstrous turbines," Trump warned lawmakers, claiming that Scottish leader Alex Salmond had promised him the wind-power project would not go ahead. "They wanted my money," Trump said. "I was lured into buying the site. After I had spent my money, they came and announced the plan."
When lawmakers asked for evidence that wind turbines would hurt tourism, Trump said: "I am the evidence, I am a world-class expert in tourism," prompting laughter from the gallery. A near-riot ensued when pro- and anti-wind power protesters clashed as Trump left the Edinburgh parliament building, the Guardian reports.
