Who's Winning, State by State

If President Obama can retain most of the states he won in 2008, his general election prospects look good. But it's by no means a done deal, an AP analysis shows. As it stands, the Democrats appear to have 186 electoral votes in the bag; Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin are all leaning blue, for another 56. Republicans look set to win 159 votes, with Arizona, Indiana, and Missouri leaning red for 32 more.

But a victory requires 270 electoral votes, and 105 remain up in the air: Get ready for battles in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia. Obama won all of them in 2008, but the economy could spell trouble for the president this year.
