Behold: Herman Cain's Weirdest Ad Yet

Apparently the government is like chickens pecking you to death

Herman Cain has released another stunningly weird ad, the latest in a message campaign characterized by bizarre metaphors and a girl creepily asking if we've got any questions. But this one might take the cake. In it, a mild-mannered farmer is attacked and viciously pecked to death by a Hitchcockian swarm of murderous chickens. This, the ad tells us, is what "feeding big government" is like.

The melodrama is so thick that you find yourself wondering if the ad is being funny on purpose—until the girl drops the "any questions?" catch phrase, and the farmer's desiccated corpse raises a skeletal hand straight out of a Halloween prop shop, erasing all doubts. But not everyone is impressed. Jezebel thinks the ad serves mostly to advertise that Cain "is so disablingly bad at analogies that he should qualify for special parking," pointing out that chickens aren't carnivorous.
