Strange development in the Trayvon Martin case today: The two attorneys representing George Zimmerman say they're dropping the case because they've lost touch with him, reports the Orlando Sentinel. "On Sunday, we lost track of George, in that he would not return our calls," said attorney Hal Uhrig. He also suggested that Zimmerman might be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. "He's largely alone," Uhrig said. "He's at least emotionally alone."
On top of that, Zimmerman contacted Fox News' Sean Hannity on his own, as well as the office of the special prosecutor who will decide whether to press charges. "We were a bit astonished," said Uhrig. The office of special prosecutor Angela Corey declined to speak with Zimmerman. The development comes after Zimmerman set up a website to collect donations for his defense. (More George Zimmerman stories.)
