A never-before-seen page of Leonardo da Vinci's famed notebook is set to go on display next month at the Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace, and it represents an interesting look into the genius' mind—because it's his to-do list. Scholars believe the list was written right before da Vinci made a trip to Pavia to dissect bodies, the Guardian reports. Much of the page appears to simply list items he wanted to remember to pack, like charcoal, forceps, a pane of glass, and a "fine-tooth bone saw."
But da Vinci also sets out a number of tasks for himself, including:
- "Get hold of a skull."
- "Observe the holes in the substance of the brain, where there are more or less of them."
- "Describe the tongue of the woodpecker and jaw of a crocodile."
- "Give measurement of the dead using his finger."
- "Get your books on anatomy bound."
"This page is fascinating," the exhibition's curator tells the
Telegraph. "Leonardo often covered the pages of his notebook with observations about anatomy, but this page gives a really personal insight into Leonardo himself." The exhibit will also include 86 other pages of the notebook. (More
