They may be divided when it comes to judicial philosophy, but off the bench, liberal Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan and conservative Antonin Scalia are ... hunting buddies. While visiting Marquette University, Kagan revealed that Scalia, an avid hunter, hosted her many times on trips to shoot pheasant and quail, reports the Journal Sentinel of Milwaukee.
"He's made a huntress out of me," says Kagan, a New Yorker with no previous gun experience. "He insists I'm going to shoot myself an antelope." Kagan also said that while the nine justices may appear to be combative in high-profile 5-4 opinions, the court is a highly cooperative group. Kagan was silent, of course, about the secret arguments over the Obamacare decision, which won't be revealed for months. (More Elena Kagan stories.)
