So this is how the week of Rush Limbaugh outrage ends: with a protest letter by celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred. She called on the Palm Beach County state attorney to investigate Limbaugh's infamous "slut" remarks, claiming they violate a Florida law that protects women from comments "falsely and maliciously imputing to her a want of chastity," reports Politico. "He needs to face the consequences of his conduct in every way that is meaningful."
Allred has not been in touch with Sandra Fluke. “I don’t reach out to women, they reach out to me,” said Allred, who represented Sharon Bialek against Herman Cain in November. “If she did reach out to me, obviously I would respond.” Her presence does little for the Rush scandal except prove it has "jumped the shark," writes Libby Copeland at Slate. "Allred is so adept at stretching feminist outrage right up to (and sometimes over) the line of ridiculousness that I sometimes wonder if she is attempting some sort of satirical theater."
