The Above the Law blog notices an unusual Craigslist ad posted by a Philadelphia law firm: The company needs a part-time "contract litigation associate," but there's a catch. Preferred candidates are "capitalists, believers in the Constitution, champions of free enterprise, and advocates of limited government." Those who won't even get an interview? "Supporters of the Occupy Wall Street movement, those that protested the War in Iraq, or anyone that thinks America should be more like Europe."
Blogger Elie Mystal thinks anyone who applies "has the self-awareness of a head of lettuce." After all, if you're willing to go after what sounds very much like grunt work for low pay, it probably means that capitalism hasn't treated you very kindly. "But this is why capitalists win: they’re very good at selling their lifestyles to people who will never attain them." Full post here. (More Craigslist stories.)
