Women are the less fair sex when it comes to social networking. Ladies are a little more likely to delete friends on sites like Facebook and Twitter than gentlemen are, and a lot more likely to keep their pages private, reports AFP. A Pew Research Center study found that 67% of women say they've deleted friends compared to 58% of men, and women are 19% more likely to set their profile to private.
The study says that deleting friends is more common than it was in 2009, up from 56% of people who maintain profiles to 63% last year. However, 67% of women said they've clicked "remove" compared to 58% of men. Almost six out of 10 users keep their profiles set so only friends can see it, and two out of 10 let the world in. Only 11% of those surveyed said they posted a status update, comment, photo, or video they later wished they hadn't, but perhaps unsurprising to some, men are almost twice as likely to do so.
