A shared glance with a beautiful stranger once inspired hours of pining and poetry. Nowadays there's "Missed Connections," a 12-year-old service on Craigslist that helps people reconnect. Mashable runs down 12 strange listings from last year:
- "minotaur, halloween, downtown": A man eyed a "tall blonde" in a "creepy minotaur mask" and high heels. Admittedly, she was wearing underwear, "but I think even if you'd been dressed more modestly it would have had the same impact."
- "You slept naked in my bed. Unfortunately, you were in the wrong apt.": 'Nuff said.
- "You licked my fingers": The author of this listing spotted someone "with friendly eyes" on the subway and sat in the neighboring seat. "I grasped my book firmly, determined to stay cool, when you reached out and began licking my fingers. It was disgusting and adorable..."
- "I felt like I was attacked by locusts": The author saw a "beautiful person in the tail end of a snuffleupagus outfit" at Burning Man and promptly threw up next to a "naked bicyclist orgy. ... Maybe it is the mescaline talking, but it would be nice to meet again."
