Whitney Houston may have had a premonition of her own death, telling friends she "really wanted to see Jesus" in the days before she died. Friends tell TMZ Houston quoted the Bible, sang hymns, and talked a lot about the afterlife in recent days, and said she "felt like her time was coming." After singing "Yes, Jesus Loves Me" in her final public appearance, Houston told a friend the next morning, "I'm gonna go see Jesus ... I want to see Jesus. You know, he's so cool ... I really want to see that Jesus."
At the same time, Houston was seen drinking quite a bit of alcohol, a source tells CNN. She was spotted at the Beverly Hilton, where she was later found dead, ordering drinks before 10am on both Wednesday and Thursday mornings, and guests on both days heard her complaining about the drinks being "watered down." She was also seen drinking in the morning on Saturday, the day she was found dead. In other Houston news:
- Her funeral will be held Saturday at her childhood church in Newark, and though it is private, it will be streamed online for fans. The AP will stream it here.
- Houston's family doesn't want Bobby Brown at her funeral, and Fox News reports that he won't be there: Instead, he'll perform with New Edition in Connecticut.
- Predictably, sales of Houston's version of "I Will Always Love You" are up—it's set to enter the charts at No. 10 Sunday, the Telegraph reports—but it will be Dolly Parton, not Houston's estate, who makes millions off the surge in sales. Parton originally co-wrote and recorded the song in 1973, and has already made quite a bit of cash off Houston's version.
