Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Komen's New Promo: Pink Handgun? $430 'Hope Edition' of Walther P-22 for sale By Matt Cantor Posted Feb 3, 2012 11:51 AM CST Copied A promotional image of the gun. (Discountgunsales.com) The Susan G. Komen Foundation may not have seen the last of controversy. Just as the group reinstates Planned Parenthood funding, news emerges that it's apparently promoting breast cancer awareness with a special pink handgun. According to WisconsinGazette.com, Komen has partnered with a gun seller to offer the "Hope Edition" of the Walther P-22, a popular model that sells for around $430. It comes with "an exclusive DuraCoat Pink slide" along with "the same reliable controls and firing mechanism that has made the Walther P-22 America’s top selling handgun," Discount Gun Sales says on its website. But take the news with this grain of salt: While the seller's website notes that "a portion of each P-22 Hope Edition will be donated to the Seattle Branch of the Susan G. Komen Foundation," another part of the description incorrectly refers to the organization as the "Susan B. Koman Foundation." Read These Next South Africa's weekend arrived with a grim start.
