Massachusetts is one of the few states in the US where gay marriage is legal, and Barney Frank intends to take advantage of it. The retiring congressman plans to marry longtime partner Jim Ready, a spokesman confirmed for the Boston Herald, though he wouldn't say precisely when or where. "We don't have any more details at this time," the spokesman said.
Frank, 71, has been dating Ready, 42, for about six years, after meeting at a political fundraiser, according to the Washington Post. "I have a partner now," Frank said in a recent interview with Charlie Rose. "I'm in love for the first time in my life." Ready, who has been described as a Todd Palin clone, has made headlines a couple times: In 2007 he was charged with having pot plants in his home, while in 2010 he was caught on tape taunting Frank's Republican challenger.
