The misery continued today for the star-crossed Knicks, as the team settled its sexual harassment suit with former employee Anucha Browne Sanders for $11.5 million, then fell 99-89 to Dirk Nowitzki and his coolly efficient Mavericks. The fans unleashed a torrent of vitriol against embattled coach Isiah Thomas, as well as underperforming center Eddy Curry.
The only good news, reports the New York Times, was Zach Randolph sloughing off a slump with 24 points, all in the second half; this was more than offset by the sweet-shooting German's 36 for the Mavs. Thomas, meanwhile, got into an argument with fans near the team bench who blamed him for the team's poor play. “He said it’s the fans’ fault because they don’t have a good sixth man," one of them reported.
