Looks like another group is trying to muscle in on the Westboro Baptist Church's turf. George Michael says that during his recent life-threatening bout with pneumonia, a group calling itself Christians for a Moral America prayed for his death, the New York Daily News reports. The group claimed that he actually had AIDS, which he deserved because he had "chosen a satanic lifestyle.”
Many Christians "are truly wonderful, kind hearted men and women who take the best parts of that religion and live admirable, generous, and loving lives," the singer wrote on Twitter. But "others use their twisted interpretations of ancient scriptures as a pathetic excuse to be totally effed up." It's not clear who is behind Christians for a Moral America or how big the group is. Its website contains rants against gays, atheists, feminists, Ricky Gervais, and the Hobbit movie, among other things—plus an endorsement of Rick Santorum.
