Martha Stewart is not having a good 2012 so far. The Martha Stewart Show will end in April due to poor ratings, and Home Depot won't even sell her paint anymore, the New York Post reports. Stewart's flagship show, currently on the Hallmark Channel, averaged 225,000 viewers last year, and just 41,000 in the key demographic: females from 25 to 54 years old. Making matters worse, it's very expensive to produce.
Despite the sparse audience, Stewart will get her own "lavish Oprah-style send-off," the Post notes. Re-runs of the show will air from April through September, according to sources and a spokesperson for Stewart's media company, and Stewart may continue working with the channel in new roles or daytime programming. Her company is also pitching ideas to other networks. As for Home Depot, the company says response to her paint line hasn't been strong, but the colors will continue to be available for mixture with Glidden-branded paints. (More Martha Stewart stories.)
