A Purple Heart recipient who survived a suicide bombing last year in Afghanistan came home for the holidays—only to be paralyzed in a shooting at his own welcome-home party, reports KTLA. Christopher Sullivan, 22, was shot late Friday in San Bernardino after a fight broke out over football, and a man pulled out a gun and started shooting. Sullivan was hit, and the shooter fled the scene and is still at large. "The war didn't get him, somebody at home got him," says Sullivan's mother, Suzanne.
"We're not sure if he's going to be paraplegic or quadraplegic," says a police spokesman. (More Purple Heart stories.)
