A word of advice to today's youth: It's not a good idea to tweet about your "idiot boss" and boozing at work. Even if you're doing so on a personal account. And especially if he's a public figure. Washington state Rep. Rick Larsen fired three young aides yesterday after online magazine NW Daily Marker offered a look at their Twitter feeds. Since August, the three have tweeted about sipping Jack on the steps of their office and listening to Nirvana on YouTube at "my government job," along with the insults.
You can see plenty of the offending tweets here. They include: "My coworker just took a shot of Jack crouching behind my desk. We have unabashedly given up on just about all things work related." Oh, and they also referred to Larsen as a p***y. The Democrat fired the staffers an hour after he heard about the tweets, his office said in a statement picked up by Reuters. "Neither Congressman Larsen nor his other staff were aware of the actions by these three staff members before today," it explained. Larsen was "disappointed by their actions and takes this very seriously." (In other unfortunate Twitter news...)
