It looks like Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum might be the only candidates taking part in the GOP debate Donald Trump is hosting, but Jon Stewart thinks it could still be the greatest debate ever. Even "regular Republicans, the ones we used to hate, are downright scared," the gleeful Daily Show host said, predicting that the ever-truculent Trump would pick fights with the candidates over issues like who cut who off, and then, of course, "if the people in the debate he's moderating don't satisfy him, he's jumping in himself."
Elsewhere, the debate about the Trump debate appears to be heating up. Newt Gingrich—the debate's most vocal supporter—told Fox's Greta van Susteren that skipping the Trump debate showed weakness in his fellow GOP hopefuls, reports Mediaite. "I don't understand it," he said, accusing debate-skippers of being afraid of Trump. "You want me to believe you can debate Barack Obama, but you won’t debate Donald Trump?” he asked.
