Granny: I Was Strip-Searched by TSA Guards

A "strip-searched" Long Island granny is threatening to sue the Transportation Security Administration, even though the agency has apologized. "I may sue them anyway because it was a very traumatic experience," 85-year-old Lenore Zimmerman tells the New York Daily News. Zimmerman said she was roughly strip searched in a private room by two female security guards after she refused to go through the scanner on her way from New York to Florida. Zimmerman, who uses a walker, says she was left with a gash in her leg.

A TSA statement says officials are investigating, and "contacted the passenger to apologize that she feels she had an unpleasant experience." However, officials deny Zimmerman was strip searched. "I say they're lying," said the feisty grandmother. "They're doing it to protect their butts." (More Lenore Zimmerman stories.)
