The morass of sexual harassment allegations hasn't slowed Herman Cain's fundraising. The candidate has raised $9 million over the last six weeks, according to his campaign, with $2.25 million of that donated since the sexual harassment story first broke. If money keeps flowing to the Cain campaign at the same rate, he will raise $20 million for the quarter, well ahead of Mitt Romney and Rick Perry's best totals, the Washington Post notes.
At a campaign event in Michigan yesterday, Cain told hundreds of enthusiastic fans that "overwhelming" support had kept him going. "You all don't know how encouraging this is," he said. "Over the last couple of weeks, I've been through hell. Now here's the good news: It didn't kill me or slow us down one bit." Cain may have been further cheered to learn that Clint Eastwood is enthusiastic about his candidacy. (More Herman Cain 2012 stories.)
