'Face' Spotted in Tumor

It's not often you hear about the lighter side of urology. Canadian researchers examining ultrasound pictures of a tumor in a patient's testicle were amazed to see what looked like a ghostly face staring back at them. "It was almost like art coming out of this patient’s testicles,” one doctor tells the National Post. “It was an amusing finding"—which was published in the journal Urology under the title "The Face of Testicular Pain."

"The residents and staff alike were amazed to see the outline of a man’s face staring up out of the image, his mouth agape as if the face seen on the ultrasound scan itself was also experiencing severe epididymo-orchitis," the doctors wrote. "A brief debate ensued on whether the image could have been a sign from a deity. However, the consensus deemed it a mere coincidental occurrence rather than a divine proclamation." The patient wasn't that interested in the details of the ultrasound, but was relieved to learn the growth was benign, doctors noted. (More strange stuff stories.)
