Was that a little White House-Fox News friction at President Obama's press conference today? When the network's Ed Henry asked about US reaction to Iran's alleged Saudi plot—and used a quote by Mitt Romney critical of Obama to do so—Obama responded, "Well, I did not know you were the spokesman for Romney," notes Mediaite. Henry discussed the exchange later with Megyn Kelly on Fox. "I was trying to put it in the broader context of not just Mitt Romney, but there are a lot of Republicans who charge this president leads from behind. This was an opportunity for him to push back on those critics in the context of Iran.”
Henry has previously clashed with White House spokesman Jay Carney. As for Obama's response to Iran: He called the plot part of a pattern of "reckless" behavior by Iran's government, reports AP. "We believe that even if at the highest levels there was not detailed operational knowledge, there has to be accountability with respect to anybody in the Iranian government engaging in this kind of activity."
