Mexico's most wanted drug lord is the proud father of two of America's newest citizens. Emma Coronel, the wife of Sinalao cartel kingpin Joaquin "Shorty" Guzman, gave birth to twin girls in an LA County hospital last month, the Los Angeles Times reports. The 22-year-old former beauty queen holds US citizenship, as do her two little California-born girls.

American federal agents kept tabs on Coronel while she was in the US, but there are no outstanding charges against her. Even if she had informed investigators of her husband's whereabouts, Mexican authorities would have had a hard time getting past his huge personal security detail, agents say. Guzman, who escaped from prison in a laundry basket in 2001, has a $5 million bounty on his head, courtesy of US authorities. (More Joaquin Guzman stories.)
