A British doctor is proselytizing Christianity to patients and defending his right to do it. Health officials are now investigating whether Dr. Richard Scott promoted Christianity as a health benefit to a "vulnerable ... depressed 24-year-old" patient with "lifestyle issues," writes Nelson Jones in his New Statesman blog. British medical guidelines wouldn't allow it, but even stranger, Scott practices at a Christian-oriented center in Margate where he admits to discussing religion with "literally thousands" of patients.

"This isn't the case of a doctor being persecuted by grim-faced secularists because he once dared to mention his faith during a consultation," writes Jones. "This is a doctor who, together with his colleagues, openly offers God as part of his normal treatment." Jones even dug up an article in which Scott wrote that "people are dying for the lack of the gospel message; eternal separation from God in Hell is their future." A Christian legal center has been funding Scott's defense at a medical hearing. (More Christianity stories.)
