Al-Qaeda celebrated the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks by releasing a 62-minute video that included a message from deceased former leader Osama bin Laden along with one from current chief Ayman al-Zawahiri, the SITE Intelligence group tells the AFP. In the video, titled “The Dawn of Imminent Victory,” bin Laden rails against the US, saying that Americans are “falling as slaves” to major corporations and “Jewish money.”

Zawahiri, meanwhile, cheers on the Arab Spring, calling the uprisings “a form of defeat for the United States,” which “is denying the fact that it is … facing a rising umah (Muslim community).” Experts have argued that the revolts have marginalized al-Qaeda, but Zawahiri scoffed at that, and even claimed credit for them, saying that “after the martyrdom of Sheikh Osama, the Islamic face of the revolutions was shown.” (More al-Qaeda stories.)
